Accelerate Mentoring

Scope of Work: TRUST Mentorship Offerings

The Women’s Health Leadership TRUST has a strong commitment to mentoring as part of our mission to advance the health care careers of women and enhance leadership skills. We seek to build upon the past success of our Accelerate! Mentoring Program to provide additional meaningful opportunities for members at all levels of leadership to mentor and be mentored.

The TRUST wishes to contract with a consultant or company (preferably a TRUST member) to assist in planning and executing our annual mentorship program. The TRUST is prepared to compensate the selected consultant/company. The elements of the project include provision of a multi-level mentorship program:

  • Formal early career mentorship program
  • Mid-career offerings
  • Executive level offerings

1. Formal early career program

    • Assessment of mentees/mentors
    • Matching based on above; proposal should indicate process and/or system
    • Regularly scheduled check-ins with mentors/mentees
    • At least quarterly offerings with entire group (staff would schedule/find venue)

2. Mid-career offerings

    • Group mentoring for middle managers
    • Leadership assessment tools
    • Integrative program elements (in-person networking events, personal development programs, self-appraisals)

3. Executive level

    • Adaptive leadership development
    • Development of personal mentorship skills
    • Reverse mentoring

Overall requirements:

  • Recommend formalized structure for the year;
  • Recommend leadership assessment tools to be used;
  • Regularly scheduled mentor/mentee group meetings with specific developmental topic
  • Multi-choice options for the various leadership levels within the TRUST membership (early, mid-career, executive)
  • Facilitated speed mentoring opportunities (twice/year, using regularly scheduled TRUST events)

Potential Hours:

  • Development Stage – 20 hours
  • Partner Matching – 2-4 hours total
  • Facilitation – 15 hours
  • Follow up – 8 hours

Selection:

  • The selection of the consultant/company will be made by the TRUST Board of Directors and based on the responses addressing each of the requirements as stated in the scope of work.
  • The contract will be announced on July 1, 2018 with a planned start date of October 1, 2018.

In addition to the above, Contractor will have the support of the Leadership Development Committee and staff in implementing the annual program. Contractor should specify what elements will be provided as part of the contracted scope of work. Contractor will be responsible for facilitation of the offerings (or suggest session leaders/facilitators), and will work in conjunction with the Leadership Development Committee and staff to develop the program of work.
