Leslie S. Parran, MS, RN, AOCN, NE-BC, BMTCN
Current Organization and Position:
Senior Director of Nursing and Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program, University of Minnesota Medical Center (MHealth).
Leslie is responsible for transplant service line strategic planning, operations, regulatory/quality and serves as MHealth international Business Liaison.
What are you working on that most excites you?
The international business is newer to my role and I have been working on improving referrals, business planning, workflow/processes, staff education, and cultural competency.
I recently had the opportunity to travel to Dubai to cultivate relationships and attend a large global health conference.
Have you ever had a mentor? How did he/she help you the most?
Yes. Listening is key and often reflective questioning or bringing a new perspective to help you take the time to consider how to address a situation or plan for continued self-development/advancement.
How do you want to support other women in their leadership journeys?
I have had the opportunity to both coach and mentor, so always enjoy that. I also value being a part of the TRUST and helping to plan as well as participating in sessions such as the personal development series, where there is more dialogue and mutual benefit in leadership discussion.
Any words of wisdom to live by?
Always strive to learn and grow; be present in the moment, seek balance, and fulfillment in what you do!
What is something that not many people know about you?
My husband and I have four grown children and two new grandbabies. Two of my daughters are in the health care industry.
