In the blink of an eye, it’s a new year, filled with enthusiasm and excitement for all of the infinite possibilities it holds. There’s a common saying that, “The best time for new beginnings is now.” So, as I begin my term as President of the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST, I hope you will join me in continuing the TRUST’s strong mission while also seeking out new opportunities that make our organization more robust for members and the health care industry.
During my time with the TRUST, it has been abundantly clear what a special organization we have. We have more than 500 members, including a number of phenomenal women serving on the Board and committees, who bring their leadership, experience and passion for health care to the table every day. I am so excited to collaborate with you all and see where we can take the TRUST in 2020 and beyond on behalf of our amazing current and future members.
We have several priorities ahead for the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST, including:
- Voice of the Customer initiative to actively listen to YOU, our TRUST members, to plan out programming, mentoring and how well-being fits our vision.
- Refreshed website to improve the integration of our customer research work and technology.
- Higher heights for our programming content richness and engaging presenters, including partnerships with other women’s organizations.
- Re-imagined sponsorship offerings to better align with our programming throughout the year and to provide a way for our already strong supporters to get additional visibility.
And, of course, I hope you will join us on April 21 for the TRUST Forum as we hear from our keynote speaker Julie Gilbert. Julie is a strategic, resilient and preserving pioneer who brought brave and visionary leadership to Best Buy. She transformed Best Buy from a “store built by guys for guys” to one where “women want to work and shop” by architecting the WOLF Pack enterprise transformation growth and innovation capability. Her work added $4.4 billion in incremental female revenue and more than nine million new female customers. Julie’s work with Best Buy also dramatically increased women employees at all levels and reduced female turnover. When Julie departed Best Buy as Senior Vice President in 2009, the company’s most profitable customer was a 30-year-old female – a first in the company’s 40-year history. I am truly excited to hear her speak on women’s leadership and our Forum theme “Together, We Rise.”
It is my pleasure to serve you all in 2020. Cheers to the year ahead filled with magical beginnings waiting for each of us professionally and personally. Cheers to another year of TRUST members supporting, inspiring and offering insights to fellow women leaders in health care!
