A Model for Equitable Health Care: A Call to Action
March 25, 2010

Presented by: Elizabeth Anderson, J.D. - System Director, Cross Cultural Services

Our workforce, patient, and community demographics are significantly shifting.  The challenges of preparing providers to care for diverse populations, and of assuring that staff members reflect those populations, must be met in order to deliver equitable care. Equitable care gives rise to an inclusive environment where all patients receive high quality, culturally responsive care and all employees are engaged in achieving quality outcomes.  A commitment to equitable care also builds strong relationships, creates workplaces that are respectful and productive, and aligns with the Institute of Medicine’s aims for moving health care into the future.  Are you and your organization ready to answer this call to action?
