Kelley Boyer

Kelley Boyer
is Director of Care Management for the Medical Group at Fairview Health Services.

Describe your key responsibilities
I support a team of care coordinators, diabetes educators, health coaches, researchers and support staff for the primary care clinics. We are focused on population health and providing services for patients to help them manage chronic disease and complex medical or social needs. We work with patients to help them set and achieve health goals, obtain resources, and more effectively engage in managing their own health.

Who has been most influential helping you to develop as a leader?
I have been fortunate to have many formal and informal mentors and coaches along my career path; some I sought out and some just took me under their wing. The most helpful to me have been those who were willing to provide honest feedback to help me understand things I maybe did not see myself. They truly challenged me to find ways to grow while bolstering my belief that I would be able to surmount the trial.

How long have you been a member of the TRUST?
Since May 2016.

What do you value most about the TRUST?
I have been so grateful for the openness of others to offer their counsel and camaraderie. I have approached many people in order to learn more about a topic or explore areas of interest to me. Everyone has been willing to graciously lend me their time and expertise. Reaching out to someone you have never met before can be a bit intimidating, especially given the caliber of women in the TRUST, but I have been put at ease when I reach out. What a gift!

Explain why you have valued participating in the Accelerate! Mentoring Program.
I have appreciated participating in Accelerate! for many reasons. The thing that is most valuable to me is to have someone I can openly discuss challenging situations with, who is looking out for my best interest, lending perspective, and offering potential solutions. I feel like I have grown a lot this past year, and being a mentee was definitely a part of that growth. I am also rewarded by the fact that sometimes, I can be a support to another mentee. I feel it’s important to give back and the program allows that give and take between participants.

Anything else you would like TRUST colleagues to learn about you?
I am the proud Mom of two incredibly capable daughters and I think my journey has played an important role in preparing them for this world. I also serve on the Board of the Centennial Area Education Foundation, as a way to support education and my community.
